You would think that trees are so plentiful in nature that it would be easy to create pictures of them. While trees are everywhere, I’m amazed at how difficult it is to find a meaningful composition—something that stands out to create a truly meaningful and unique image.
The combination of light and form is just the beginning.
Often times, the challenge is the foreground or background, cluttering up the scene into a mess that cannot be restored.
Other times, it’s not having access to the right perspective or angle.
So when I see the right tree in the right situation, I obsessively attempt to capture that magical tree.
The tree stood alone and special light put it on center stage. I added painterly effects to give it even more life.
This uniquely shaped tree needed some extra life so my imagination went wild.
I played with my camera shutter speed to form these abstract forms.
The spring brought out the pink buds and fresh grass in this unique pair of trees.
I appreciated the layers of light that accentuated this tree.
The late autumn displayed this tree that still had leaves hanging on. I wanted to enhance the image with textures and bring out the unique color.
