Spearfish Canyon in South Dakota is such a unique scene that I had to write about all of the streams, waterfalls, and fall foliage yet again.
The stream flowed to these amazingly huge nestled bolders.
The distant waterfall was framed by all of the fall foliage.
The light presented a misty atmosphere and the shapes of both the foreground and background mixed with unexpected colors left me obsessed with containing this scene.
A long look downstream gives unique perspectives of all the details.
Roughlock Falls has so many smaller stories contained inside of it--it was quite a challenge trying to capture it all.
One evening an extended thunderstorm erupted with heavy hail. While my car paid the price, the unique visuals it presented was quite a sight the next morning as the cooler temperatures kept the ice intact.
The rocks interrupted the flow and created nice curvy breaks in the stream while the sun spotlighted the leaves from behind me.
