I love reflecting, and I love reflections.  I'm a bit obsessed with reflections, as many photographers are.

Reflections can be a key component to stimulate the eye.

You know when you watch a TV news broadcast and the table surface is glass or highly reflective?

It's meant to catch your eye.

You know that movie directors will rent out a firetruck to spray their city street scene down with water to make it wet for the shoot?

It looks a million times more interesting.

You know when you watch a concert or performance on stage?

That reflective sheen plays with the light and fills any empty boring dark void.

You know why photographers like me are drawn to reflections?

All the same reasons.

Here are a few of my favorite artworks that feature reflections.

The water was absolutely still revealing the submerged leaves beneath.
I created this in memory of September 11. Look closely at the reflection.
A pool beside the ocean led to my fascination with this scene, and the gentleman experiencing the sunset.
The shape of the trees is doubled in this abstract.
This oddity was in my imagination and took patience to shoot the different seasons and merge them.
The subtle leaves on the surface of the water leaves your eyes in wonder of what you're really looking at. At least, that was the goal.
The story lies within the details and shadows of this reflection.
