After absorbing all of the scenes from Alaska, I kept thinking how so many of them looked like paintings.
So then it began, my latest obsession of infusing the photos with paint.
Here are some of my favorites painterly Alaskan artworks.
This one incorporates heavier brushstrokes and color into the otherwise muted landscape on this day.
This has just a tinge of color with birds seemingly flying off the frame.

The colors of Alaska are hard to describe and that is what I wanted to exploit in this artwork.
On the boat on our way to Alaska, this was a common sight---a lurking landscape and beautiful ocean water.
A bird with amazing vivid shape takes flight against an Alaska backdrop.
This tree stood on the shore in Skagway. My goal was to make its silhouette stand out.
Nestled amidst the beautiful Alaskan waters, these trees were begging to be photographed. I mixed in some painterly after-effects and like how it turned out.
A misty scene presents opportunities for light to shine through and highlight the landscape of Alaska.
