Our name is a tremendously powerful thing in our lives, so let's celebrate it with some name wall art, shall we?
After years of various random projects, one of my personal favorites was spawned from a request none other than my very self. My kids' bedrooms were looking a bit bare, and while I have a lot of artwork, most of it isn't quite meant for them.
However, with some tweaking and brainstorming, I was able to come up with something meaningful and personal for them. I made some colorful, playful, and fun artworks using their names.
When I went to Las Vegas, I took some pictures of this elaborate wall of letters because, well, I take pictures of anything interesting, not sure how or when they will be used. In this case, I knew this picture would work perfectly for my son, AJ. I thought it would be fun to simply place these two letters randomly in the picture, intermixed with the rest. I made the color compliment his already established room colors.
After playing with some sizing, this was the final result.
For my daughter's room, I wanted to do something completely different. I turned up the dial, filling the color spectrum like a big box of crayons and maximize the vibrance in it, giving it the youthful flair it needed for her room and to reflect her personality.
After playing with some texts, fonts, and colors, I decided on making the name inside the art a bit more subtle, so that the abstract pattern was the main focal point. Reversing the color to a light color, in my opinion, would make the two elements fight with each other visually. In the end, the work here paid off as well I think.
Here was another rendition that didn't quite make the final cut.
