Behold the incredible lakes of Canada.
They are stunning.
They are numerous.
They draw people from all around the world.
If you are a sucker for mountains and lakes, consider this your golden ticket.
Spanning across three national parks in Canada which include, Banff, Yoho, and Jasper, these lakes will leave you spellbound.
Few places live up to their ridiculous levels of hype, but this one surely did.
I think you should pay this place a visit, but for now, let me give you a visual tour of what you could see in beautiful Canada!
One of the most famous lakes in Canada is Lake Louise. I was anxious to see if it would live up to the hype, and it certainly did!
Lake Agnes can be found after a steep hike that bends around Lake Louise. It was work to get there, but it was worth seeing it!
As I drove around the meandering roads in Jasper National Park, I came upon this beautiful and peaceful setting at Lake Patricia. I was there for hours recomposing different pictures until finally a shaft of light broke through skimming the tops of the trees. The ducks were in perfect position. This might be my favorite photographic moment in Canada.
As luck would have it, we needed a rest stop and I found a path to this beautiful waterfront on Herbert Lake. Soon after composing my shot, droplets of rain came down to add even more mood to this beautiful scene.
Without a doubt, Moraine Lake is one of the most beautiful destinations I've ever visited. The mountains and lake together make for a fairytale-like scene. I must admit, this picture almost looks like an artificial computer-generated graphic, but I'm here to say this is where I was standing during a magical evening at Moraine Lake. Even better, I got to share this scene with my family and hardly anyone else was there.
Moments before I arrived, a bear was spotted in this area of Medicine Lake. That didn't keep me from capturing this amazing sunrise.
Exploring Lake Louise never got old, and soon the sun was up over the horizon just high enough to spotlight the beautiful colors of the lake.
During part of the trip, we were lucky enough to enjoy this view of Lake Beauvert every day, and I had to capture the magical light highlighting the treeline on the shore.
I've been looking at pictures of Spirit Lake for many years, and finally I had the chance to set foot here. I was so obsessed with photographing this place, I made two separate boat trips. Located on the very far end of Maligne Lake, it takes extra planning to get here.
You must go to Peyto Lake.
That's what everyone said and wrote and they were certaily right! This magical lake features a fun foxhead-shaped lake with incredible blue water embedded in a row of beautiful mountains. The viewpoint is busy, but everyone gets to enjoy this at all times of the day. I happened to arrive when weather was moving through so it brought dramatic light.
Pyramid Lake is one of those hidden treasures nobody talks about. There's just too many amazing lakes to see, so I guess this one gets left out. I was happy to get this place all to myself.
I had to win a lottery drawing to visit this place called Lake O'Hara. The Canadian Parks work hard to keep these delicate triails and shoreline pristine by limiting the number of people who can visit. A late spring snow storm closed off most of the trails I wanted to see, but it was still a beautiful place and hope I get the chance to go back.
This beautiful scene awaits you when you arrive at Maligne Lake. This is the famous boathouse that is plunked right inside the beautiful mountains surrounding Maligne Lake.
People from all over the world wake up early to see the morning light sprinkle the mountains at Lake Louise. It surely is a wonderful sight and worth the 4am alarm.
Exploring these Canadian lakes may have been one of my favorite photographic adventures yet. I can't express how grateful I am to have seen and experienced these places, especially in light of the recent terrible wildfires in Jasper National Park.
