This current project could be my last.

That's how I feel every single time, so I'm determined to make it count.

Indeed, I want the art I create to deliver what you want--an immediate impact to your room's design and feel.

However, I also strive to make our experience together a memorable and enjoyable one.

In both of these ways:

I'm obsessed with making a lasting impression.

Stephen reminded me of this mission recently.  He texted me that he had moved and needed some new artwork for his new space.

The last time I worked with Stephen was more than 12 years ago for a couple of artworks for his place.

He remembered this too... (although he thought it was 10-11, my how time flies).

This was the artwork I helped him with 12 years ago, a vertical 3-panel called EPIC. I still love how the panels pulls from the design of the rug.

The next thing I knew we were FaceTiming and he was showing me his new space. He told me he started thinking about artwork and he quickly remembered our experience finding the perfect artwork.  This gave me the biggest smile.

It was still a pretty blank slate in his new place, but the primary design choice up to this point were the couches, so off we ran, coming up with different ideas.  This time we were going to pursue abstract artwork.

Choices for Abstract Artwork
We started on the main wall, and I knew the spot was begging for something square.

Next came the wall above the couch.  This one would be larger and more elongated to span over the couch.  In this way, each artwork would be shaped differently to add impact to the space.

Choices for Artwork Above Couch
Obviously the orange tones in the couch was a major element to pull from.

Stephen didn't need much time to decide.  I must say, I loved his choices.

Square Choices for Artwork
The light grays and whites surely make it pop while the orange tones pull everything together.
Finished Living Room with Artwork
This one flows horizontally, while the square piece flows vertically, so they have subtle contrast yet tie perfectly together.

I can't express how thankful I am to have clients like Stephen.

After 12 years, it was confirmed that I may just be doing what I strive for the most---to make a lasting impression with the art and the experience.
