With the arrival of the fall season, otherwise ordinary scenes pack a lot of punch.  It's no wonder that it's a photographer's favorite season.

Throughout the years, I've tried to make each autumn day count and here are some of my favorites over the years.

The branches curved down to hover over the open water and the golden reflection demanded my attention.
This spotlit branch in front of the deep shade reveals the colors of fall.

Spearfish Canyon (above) in autumn makes for some mesmerizing scenes.

Red Sunlit Leaf

The sun slowly sets as the light makes the grounded leaves glow.
I stood at Terry Peak in South Dakota to watch the sunrise illuminate all of the fall colors.
The path between colors will always make us want to walk into the scene.
Trees in Spearfish Canyon

Driving through Spearfish Canyon, I was drawn to the perfect mix and placement of trees and colors in the fall.
The image started as a classic shot in Utah and I infused different hues and colors to make it feel like autumn.
Are leaves falling from the sky? No, they are floating on it.
The waves of colors from near to far is what drew me to this scene and a singular leaf dressed in red.
