Before my career as an artist, I worked in marketing for 15 years.  The biggest pillar to any business aside from its name is its logo.  Logos are awfully important.

I love logos.

I often get requests about creating a custom logo artwork.  I am thrilled about the creative idea.

There's just one thing though.

In most situations, like creating a logo-based artwork for inside your office (your reception area), it is probably wasteful.

Logos, really, are a sense of pride to the one who created its existence.  It's easy to understand the desire for a logo sign or logo artwork in your reception area.  It's kind of like a really cool trophy.  The marketing truth of having a logo artwork in your reception is----its not necessary.

My marketing brain speaks to me a lot.  It says logos are developed to instill an immediate message and to have a fast way of identifying something.  Logos are especially helpful for restaurant and retail signage for wayfinding.  They are critical for exterior use. If done right, they are memorable and can also convey personality.  When they do that, their job is done.

When logos are prominent in reception rooms I feel as though it is a lost opportunity.  Everyone knows where they are already.  They've seen the logo already, and they are sold on your message because they are sitting or standing right there waiting for you.  In marketing speak, you might be selling to those already sold.

This valuable wall space can be used for something else.  Perhaps an artwork can create a meaningful first impression or spark a conversation.

Almost always, I have found that people (both employees and clients alike) will appreciate something on the wall that they can relate to.

Logos aren't easy to relate to.

I've helped with different commercial offices in all stages, and logo artwork comes up a lot.

Create outstanding exterior signage and maybe even put logo decals on your front door.

My opinion is to save that first impression wall for something extraordinary, not a logo.

That first wall can create a strong and lasting impression. It's hard for logos to do that.
Perhaps a peaceful image sets the tone for your visitors.

Add visual intrigue to your distinctive decor.
Perhaps the right color tones set the mood.
Punch up a neutral color palette with some color.

If you absolutely NEED to have a logo artwork, there are times where it makes sense. I can help with your logo art.
