Flowers are some of the most beautiful specimens living on our planet.
I think that's hard for anyone to deny.
Yet somehow they are particularly challenging to photograph.
Creating pictures of flowers can flatten their amazing shapes, pulverize their colors, and conceal all of the amazing nuances they possess. However, it doesn't stop me from trying to make something compelling.
I have learned that sometimes photographing flowers calls for an alternative perspective, something far removed from the literal sense. This time, the goal was to get abstract, and let the colors of the flowers become the main subject rather than the flowers themselves. The shapes and arrangements of the flowers would dictate the flow and interaction of the light inside the blending colors.
After hundreds of pictures-- maybe more than a thousand, here are some of my favorites out of the gate.
