After months of planning...
It all came together in this moment while sailing in Kauai, Hawaii, a couple of hours before sunset.
Photographers know going in despite every ounce of work and planning up front, it can all be meaningless if mother nature doesn't cooperate. I had read that cancellations or re-routes could be possible if the ocean conditions were too rough.
I was nervous about coming all this way only to have things go haywire.
Soon, the day was here, and we arrived at our scheduled time and we set sail aboard the 65-ft catamaran, courtesy of the crew at Capt. Andy's, which I can't say enough nice things about!
Although the ocean tossed us around a bit, the sun illuminated this majestic place as we slowly made our way along the Na Pali Coast in Kauai.
This was my #1 target, the Cathedral Cliffs of Kauai. It is why I was here.
The light was dramatic, the ocean made things interesting, and it was exhilarating.
