Let's explore some butterfly art.
These days and now forever, butterflies have extra special meaning.
For the past several years, I've had many encounters with camera in hand, ready to capture some of the unique angles and colors that butterflies (and moths) display.
It's been fun to experiment with different techniques to create images and butterfly art that have a more abstract and painterly feel.
Butterflies will probably be a side obsession for the rest of my life. My whole family enjoys frequenting our local butterfly house and we have a fun ongoing game of pointing them out when we are outside. I'm thankful they are always present during these warm seasons, and they are creatures we should never take for granted.
I hope you enjoy the butterflies.
This butterfly faces the beam of light giving it an ethereal feel.
They hang and hide and the game is to find them in any angle.
I wanted to create a unique interaction with this image.
I experimented a bit to create something much more abstract, so the colors were the focus.
This one was ready to take flight.
One of the more complex butterfly artworks, this one was created from taking a series of images as the butterfly fluttered its wings and then stacking them to create the sense of movement.
I couldn't resist the repeated patterns of the background with the wings of the butterfly.
Sometimes a mix of unexpected colors really makes a pop.
Going out on a limb.
Butterflies are simple and elegant and their surroundings can further enhance them.
