Meet Viva Magenta.
Did you know that there is a "color of the year" for 2023 already? Yes, Viva Magenta is the winner.
Each year, Pantone names its color of choice and I thought it might be interesting to create artwork that is derived from it.
What exactly is Pantone?
In their words:
Pantone provides a universal language of color that enables color-critical decisions through every stage of the workflow for brands and manufacturers. More than 10 million designers and producers around the world rely on Pantone products and services to help define, communicate and control color from inspiration to realization – across various materials and finishes for graphics, fashion and product design.
Yes, it's quite a bold mission, but they've basically been doing it since the early 1960s.
Those in the creative industry like me are suckers for these brilliant PR campaigns naming this "color of the year" to gain inspiration from it. Well done, Pantone.
Here are some favorites I created to celebrate Viva Magenta.
